Ball Sports, Vocabulary, Elementary

One really clever way to learn vocabulary is to think about a place or a topic – like sports or games

Then learn all the verbs and nouns and phrases that are commonly used or heard with those games or sports

most sports nouns  collocate with

GO, PLAY and DO

Look at the pictures of different ball sports below , drag and drop the pics into the right place

Now listen to Kate talking about doing sports at her university and put the right word in to the space.

I love it here at Southampton Uni. They have so many great facilities to do sports. You can play anything. I play football and sometimes tennis with my friends. I don’t really like to play rugby but I like watching it. I’m too short for basketball but my friend Jen plays. She does table tennis too. She’s better than me but I’m better at volleyball. There is even a baseball team here but I don’t know how to play that.
